[edit] Introduction
Better Buildings Partnership (BBP) is a collaboration of the UK's leading commercial property owners who are working together to improve the sustainability of the existing commercial building stock.
The primary objectives of the organisation are to:
- Deliver building performance.
- Improve professional understanding.
- Stimulate market transformation.
[edit] History
The organisation was established in 2015 by Louise Ellison and Sarah Ratcliffe. From the start, one of central activities of the Better Buildings Partnership was to create working groups that would explore shared challenges.
These groups included:
- Investing and lending.
- Measurement and reporting.
- Operations and technology.
- Property management.
- Occupier engagement.
- Market transformation.
[edit] Work with BSRIA
BBP and BSRIA joined forces to develop the Soft Landings framework, a project delivery framework intended to deliver buildings that meet the needs of those who own and operate the completed buildings. It ensures the transition from construction to occupation is 'bump-free' and that operational performance is optimised.
Soft Landings was first published in 2009 and was updated in 2014 to align with the RIBA 2013 work stages. It was revised again in 2018. It is now developed by the BSRIA Soft Landings Group.
